That was great, however, the rules did say it had to be a parady of your choice. As for the time issue, 3 minutes or shorter is suggested but the official rules state a maximum of 5 minutes.

An excellent production...Mr. Freeman really knows video production. Very impressive use of resources and also showcasing student talents. Also, the official rules do in fact state the 5 minute maximum time limit. If the time limit was 3 minutes, I doubt that Shycast would allow videos over 3 minutes to stay online.

Not to beat an already dead horse, but the offical rules DO state it needs to be a song parody. To quote the official rules:
c) uploading a music video (maximum 5 minutes) that is a parody of any song of the Entrant’s choice by demonstrating how different kinds of technology are being used in the classroom (“Entry”).
If I could highlight I would highlight the words "song parody." Even in the guidelines (not the official rules) you quote the words "song" and "parody" are used.together: "...For example a song parody that shows..." This has been an ongoing point of contention with many videos and should have been clarified from the beginning. Nothing against your wonderful video, but others were limited in their creativity by sticking to the verbage that specified "song parody." Best of luck!

Everyone did a great job. For those with negative comments, be careful what you say,..things have a way of coming back at you.
I should think that if any rules were broken, they would be checked by now.

For the person worried about copyright rules it should be well known by now that parody is acceptable and is NOT a violation of copyright rules. This is how shows such as saturday night live can exist. I would also like to pint out that I am sure that Interwrite would not suggest and, by extension, condone making a parody if it could potentially put a school, its staff, and its students in legal peril

Alief Kerr teacher here. I can run a mean powerpoint presentation, but I can't do what y'all have done here. I'm very impressed! You've already done Alief proud by turning out such a top-rate product and for having the moxie--the chutzpah--to go for the big win. I hope my vote helps you capture first prize.
As for those who think ENGC has enough technology...let me see if I follow your logic: the team was supposed to put together a product that could compete on a national level, yet in doing so they, according to you, were *too* good and only proved they didn't need the technology they're seeking in the first place? And that makes sense...how? Isn't that like saying that we want you to write an award-winning essay for a scholarship to college, and you do indeed write that essay--one that knocks the judges socks off--but then they decide that your essay was actually *too* good and, therefore, you don't really need to the money and they should let some other student with poor writing skills win over you because they need help more?
